World Master is an offline-first geography learning app. We collect as little as possible. This page explains exactly what leaves your device, when, and why.
All learning, quizzes, maps, scoring, streaks, and progress are stored only on your device. You can use the entire app with no internet connection and with all permissions denied. The network is used only for these optional, clearly-labelled features:
| Feature | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Global leaderboard | A device-generated player ID, your chosen display name, your score | To rank you against other players |
| Arcade (multiplayer) | The same player ID, display name, score, in-match moves | To run a live match |
| Anonymous usage analytics (opt-out) | Coarse, non-identifying gameplay events, app version, device type | To improve the app |
| Sign in with Google (optional) | Your Google email + basic profile, via Firebase Authentication | Only if you create an account to back up progress |
If you never open the leaderboard/arcade, never sign in, and turn analytics off, nothing leaves your device.
No advertising, ad SDKs, or ad identifiers. No location, contacts, microphone, or camera tracking. No selling or sharing of personal data. No cross-app tracking.
To keep your leaderboard position stable, the app generates a random player ID (on Android anchored one-way to ANDROID_ID). It is not your name, email, or phone number, and is never used for advertising.
Open Profile and turn off “Share anonymous usage data”. No usage events leave your device after that.
Sign-in is optional, powered by Google Firebase Authentication. See Google’s policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
This app is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Network traffic uses standard transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Analytics events are deleted after about 13 months. Leaderboard/profile data is kept while the app operates, or until you delete it.
If this policy changes, the effective date above is updated and the new version published at this URL.
